It’s 2011 and you’re still going on about MODs??
Well duh ofcourse we’re still listening to chiptunes and demoscene juice.
Why wouldn’t we? It’s a sweet minimalistic music format with tons of tunes
available.

Anyways my old “Java Applet” solution for mod-replay on the web is kindof a bit too buggy for my tastes, and the tech is kindof dated anyways.

So I did a quick search around the globe for similar solutions and ended finding this
guy who has written an MOD implementation in JavaScript.

It relies on html5 dynamic sound for output and the rest is pretty plain javascript!

Seriously, how cool isn’t that?! Cutting edge web-tech makes it possible to replay mods without additional plugins!

Downside is that there’s no XM support though..
And no sweet player gadet code.

So that about leaves me to implement my own XM support.
Wich I begun doing yesterday night in ruby.
Mostly as a trip to explore the XM format and also to have a nice library that can render mp3:s out of modules.

The project is hosted over at github, I haven’t come very far yet
but keep an eye on it in the future
